OUR MISSION

Revolutionizing the Agriculture Industry

At Drones for Agriculture, our mission is to redefine the way we approach agriculture. We believe that by leveraging drone technology, we can provide farmers with the tools they need to manage their crops more efficiently and effectively. Our team of experts is dedicated to developing cutting-edge solutions that help farmers increase productivity and yield while reducing costs and waste.

How We Began

During my career as an Airline Pilot, I was introduced to the world of remote-control aircraft.  I watched and spent time learning how the different types of RC planes fly and in my case crash. in the late 2015's the quadcopter( drone) was born, and I had the opportunity to learn and fly while living and travelling in Asia. At this time drones were a new high tech toy but the potential was there.

in 2021 I returned to Australia after retiring from being an Airline Pilot and was looking to my next Aviation challenge.

I contacted one of my ex Pilot colleagues who had started a drone spraying (agricultural) buisness(Proagco). We discussed the pros and cons of his new drone business and I was hooked.  Drone operations being relatively new it was just the aviation challenge I was looking for ! As it turned out I would be gaining experience again from my first chief Pilot and other colleagues from previous airline jobs.

I had spent the last 25years operating aircraft up to 205t and I was now challenged with operating drones from less than a kilogram up to max of 150kg. These drones aircraft are just a big of a technology and system challenge as their bigger cousins I had operated.

I started with a Mavic Pro to learn the flying skills and trained and watched others operate agricultural drones from the XAG range.

During this period of training and observation I started a company, undertook a training course to achieve my Remote Pilot Licence (under 25kg drone licence).  This was not necessary as I had an Air transport Pilot licence but as there are differences, I decided to do the training to ensure my knowledge was current and accurate. After completing the Remote Pilot Licence course, I continued to complete a under 150kg drone operators' course and the Remote Operators Certificate course. These course's completed allowed me to start working .

So now I Purchased my first spraying drone and underwent the CASA flight test to operate the EA Vision Thor.  a smart drone with anti-collision sensors, GPS systems and the ability to spray, spread and Map.  Since this start, I have moved from spraying operations into mapping operation in Quadcopter drones and will start flying the Ebee X fixed wing drone for Mapping and agricultural field operations.
